
Core Training Components of the Faculty ACCESS Program.

Program Objectives
To provide programming and mentoring for URM faculty at PWIs that centers on wellness and focuses on skill building to increase rigorous research productivity and secure NIH funding.

Individual Wellness
Providing a variety of programming with a holistic approach that centers on wellness.

Invested Mentoring
Providing a network of successful and NIH funded URM faculty mentors to enhance social and tangible support for ACCESS Mentees.

Offering Workshops
Workshops covering a variety of relevant topics, including but not limited to, scientific rigor, responsible conduct of research, and targeted training in grant writing to increase NIH grant submissions by URM faculty.

Scientific Rigor Training
Ensuring that mentees are well versed and trained in conducting rigorous studies and maintaining strong laboratory environments, that will support publication and grant funding success.

Supporting Mentees with NIH Standards of Ethical Research Through RCR
Training Modules and Certification
Providing each mentee with instructions on accessing their institution’s Responsible Conduct of Research training modules and offering a variety of ways to complete these required modules.
